Rochester.

I found these on negatives at my parents’ house, in Kodak paper pouches from Tops with smiling Bill Cosbys on the cover. They’re all from Rochester, NY, 1987 to 1990 – my childhood between ages six and nine.

My brother Uri and myself. I can’t tell if that’s my genuine expression or if I’m posing for the camera. Both explanations are possible – and in any case I’m like that in almost every photo taken from that age.

With our mother, somewhere local.
“שמיים שרוטים של גלוייה”

My brother and I got hold of the family camera one afternoon. After photographing our G.I. Joe collections, we got around to our bellies. That’s me. I don’t think I’ve ever been like that again.

I don’t know what this picture is about, but that’s me on the screen (or in the reflection).
There’s something magically self-referential here.
